Tomahawk before Thanksgiving - Weeks 8-9

If you read my last post from a few weeks ago, you may recall I went to Europe for a week. It was an awesome trip! But, derailed me a bit on my vertical training with the Jump Manual and on updating my blog. Since I returned from my trip, I've lacked motivation, strength, and energy and I missed several workouts. I'm ready to change that!

This morning I had a great workout and am confident this week is going to be a good one. I also started taking creatine again after being off of it for several months. I'm anxious to see how it impacts my results this time.

The next several weeks my focus is going to be on getting stronger. I think my strength is a bigger weakness compared to my "springyness" although I'd like to improve that too. My goal is to get my squat over 300 lbs and my deadlift to 325 lbs and get my bodyfat under 10%. When I do that, I should be dunking 2 hands easily!

  1. Good luck getting bak into it.
Our attempts to get back to dunking like we did when we were younger reminds me of something Steve Kerr said a while back. When he was a Cleveland Cavalier, he once said that he and Mark Price would have an annual dunk contest to see who actually could.

    1. lol! that is hilarious. i've often wondered if guys like john stockton, steve nash, etc could dunk. i've searched but never found anything. have to imagine that as pro athletes they had to be able to dunk at some point in their career.

    2. I agree. John Stockton was so fast, quick, and had huge hands that I have a hard time believing he couldn't dunk. Plus, I've seen him jump high enough on some rebounds that I'm convinced he simply chose not to dunk.

    3. so true! with those hands, he could palm the ball easily and if he just got a few inches over the rim should have been able to dunk it. i guess its no surprise that he didn't dunk in games since he was not a flashy player. total old school, short shorts, i'm going to knock the crap out of you type baller. i've heard players say he was one of the dirtiest players they ever faced.
